About Darlene...
Darlene Fredette is a multi-published author of contemporary women’s fiction, a screenwriter, and a visual artist who is passionate about storytelling across page and screen. With over two decades of experience in administration and marketing, culminating in retirement from her role as Director of Administration and Marketing, alongside her work as a magazine publisher and professional book reviewer, Darlene understands what makes a love story successful and brings both heart and expertise to her craft.

Initially published by Harlequin Australia’s digital imprint and a New York press, her stories are being republished and adapted into screenplays, earning praise for their relatable characters and Hallmark-style charm.

Readers describe her as “breathing life into her characters,” “plunging the reader into the story,” and “reminiscent of a Hallmark movie.” Darlene’s stories offer uplifting tales of love, laughter, gentle mystery, small-town charm, and unforgettable connections.

Residing on Canada’s scenic Atlantic Coast, where summers are too short and winters too long, she draws inspiration from family, nature, and the quiet moments that ignite the imagination. When she’s not writing a novel or screenplay, sketching new art, or devouring a good book, she enjoys life with her husband, daughter, and two oversized, loveable dogs.
